Although I don't own one of thse, many of my friends do.

I don't think it is worth the money .. I would rather use a stick, some tape and a twig to keep the biner open. This device doesn't work well on petzl spirit draws becuase it relies on the little metal rivet on the outside of the gate that cathces on the notch to keep the biner open. Many times I have had the gate close before the draw was in place beacuse the plastic gripper slipped off the rivet.

Works much better than the good old two stick stick clip. The ability to remove the draw can be a real benifit, espically when cleaning a really overhanging route.

After trying it out once, I could easily uncip draws from directly below. I though ... sometimes you have to work from the side, so I tried from 30 degrees on both sides, with the biner oriented both ways on each side. I found that I could remove the draw in all cases, but it worked easier if the gate was oriented on the side closest to where you were standing. So if you are off to one side it is helpful to think about that before you clip.

Another Thing I tested was different biner size. I Tested with DMM Eclipse Draws and Black Diamond enduro draws. The DMM is a large biner, and it worked better than the BD. I put a bit of tape on the grappler, as the manufacturer suggests for wire gate biners, and that made it work just as well with the small biner.

The manufacturer also gives directions to pull the device direcly outward (not down like other stick clips) to relase the draw. I fould that a twisting action, or an upward/outwrad force worked very well aswell.

To sum it up, this product works excellent for putting on any draw, much better than anything I have used before. Removing draws takes a bit of practice, and works well in most conditions.

I only have one of these, and it is the bent gate variety. I won it at a competition.
It is a decent shape, and all that, but the wiregate on the one that I have is sort of flimsy, it doesn't close enough to catch the notch, and with minimal force can actually bend to one side far enough to not be able to catch the notch even when forced closed. I use it on my waterbottle, and I carry it as an escape biner. If you are purchasing this biner, I suggest you examine each one and make sure it is built better than the one I have.

95l = 5800 cubic inches.

I own the 2002 model of this pack that doesn't have the waterproofing. I don't think that the waterproofing is worth $100, I would rather just have a bag cover. I love this pack, I can put my rack, rope helmet, food and (really big) camera all inside and have room to spare.

As with all Arcterex large bags, the top bag comes off and has a waist strap to be used ad a fanny pack, which is handy for long multipitch routes to carry food and emergency supplies.

The one thing I wish this pack had was a zipper on both sides of the top pack. I usually put alot of the things I want quick access to in the top bag, and when the pack is on the ground with the straps down, it is very hard to get at the zippers on the top bag.
