pretty much your only choice. good descriptions of routes, pictures and topos are only a 3 out of 5. Even though its a falcon book, the authors are old school locals- so that is nice to see.

I love this book. I bought it after climbing and leading top rope trips for several years. I took an AMGA top rop site manager course and found this book put me at the head of the class.
Whether you aspire to be a rock guide, or you just value your partners and your own life- belay escapes, ascending, leader rescues, passing knots, multi-pitch lowers- soo much good stuff. Rigging, scenarios, what-ifs and multiple solutions based on the specifics of the situation. Very thorough.
its well organized, well written, beautifully illustrated. It is amazing how many cartoon illustrations are in this book. It makes learning the content very easy.
the only thing this book can't do, is practice the rescues for you!

yes its a helmet, and yes its
thats about it. Don't buy this helmet for yourself or your friend. it slides around, it pinches hairs. the harness system it won't ever stay put, while looking around for pro placements I had to constantly reposition this helmet.
and for groups or educational purposes, this helmet will cause more problems than open toed shoes.

using this device on stiffer ropes (gymline, semi-static or static) absolutely sucks. As does using this on older (fat and fuzzy) or bigger (11mm) ropes.
if you're using skinny ropes, or are belaying someone much bigger than you and you need the extra friction - have at it cuz this device was made for you.
in normal situations i hate this device.
