I got this set of brass to supplement my BD nuts, esp. the smallest sizes. As a supplement, they rock. Nothing as small as the BD1 and BD2, but the RE1 and RE2 come before the BD3. RE3 before BD 4. RE4 and RE5 before BD5. RE6 before BD6. This means that you have pretty much doubled your small nuts with much stronger rated pieces -- the smallest REs are still rated at 6kN, blasting the BD4 and smaller's weaker wires.

For the price, these are very good nuts. Of course, for the price, there are a few drawbacks: (1) color coding is done on the wire swage, not the nut (so its useless) and (2) they do slide up. However, I believe they are a great completement as a second set, esp. to BD nuts. They really fill out those medium to large nut placements (and combined with the brass nuts, they're amazing). Additionally, their shape (very boxy) makes them inferior for some placements, but excellent for others. A perfect second set ... use BD or DMM for your first set, but these will help fill it out.

My favorite locking biner for belaying with an ATC. The narrowed pear top means you have greater rope control. They are also great for raps. Easy to operate with a nice feel to the screwgate.
