Some folks don't like the fuss of the extra plastic clip. I like it because it reduces the chance of cross loading, plus the clip will only close if the gate is locked. This provides a very quick visual check that your belay carabiner is locked.

I find this rope is supple and very nice handling. The sheath seems sturdy and durable. So far, I have done more top rope than lead climbing on this rope, but it is well suited to either. No big whippers on it, thankfully.
The price was reasonable ($155CDN at MEC in Canada). This would make a good beginner's rope, although there are some cheaper options.

A good quality belay device. The high-friction mode may be a bit much, especially for some stiffer ropes. A rappel on stiff rope with an autoblock backup turned into a tedious ordeal--I virtually had to force rope into the device to descend. Be sure to turn it around in these situations.
Next time I may just buy the regular ATC.

Inexpensive, sturdy, simple and lightweight. As others have mentioned this is a dome-style helmet that rides high to protect against rockfall.
The size adjustment works well and should fit most heads. I have a long head, (not round and wide) and I have trouble fitting some helmets.
MEC sells them in Canada for around $50 CDN.
