These are very nice rescue pulleys. I say rescue because they do not have a very large radius and would make continuous hauling a pain in the a$$. I would recommend one (or two) of these on everyone's harness. My moto is: if you bring it, you probably won't use it. Luckily I have never had to use these in a rescue situation, but they do come in handy for tightening a slackline. For under $20, there is no reason not to have one.

I needed to replace my old seive tent with something lighter and more versatile and of course affordable. I finally settled on the MSR Trekker Tarp (older version in tan). I immediately set it up in my basement and was very impressed. I can imagine it to be a good addition to a shallow snow cave/trench. Although I have not yet used it much, I have the following comments...
Pros:
Versatile setup - mesh insert alone, tarp alone, or both. Nothing beats watching the sunset under the awning and it offers plenty of gear storage space in the ends.
Adjustable Height - the height of the tarp can be raised or lowered to allow more or less space between the tarp and ground
Weight - the full rig weights around 4 lbs and even less when you leave either part at home.
Cons:
Price - the newer (lighter by 1 lb.) version costs around $280, but I got my older version for $130. But then again, it's still cheaper than most quality tents.
Final Comments:
This is a good choice for those that like to go light with just the tarp or but still want your city-slicker friends to come along by offering the mesh insert.

I've had my Contour IV (90 + 15 Liters) for 6+ years and have no complaints. It weighs a little much, but the load stability, comfort and durability makes it all worth it. The adjustable back suspension is great. I've used it for weekend hikes, international travel, and have snowboarded backcountry with it fully loaded (and a smaller pack strapped to my chest, ouch). I believe Lowe Alpine makes excellent packs and are worth buying if on sale.

This is one interesting toy/training device. Once it's cranked up, it requires concentration and strength to keep it in control. We usually pass it around the room while watching the movie, that way you don't over exercise. Mis-use of this (or any exercise device) can cause more harm than good. I don't think it is recommended for people with weak wrists/forearms because it will strain your tendons and muscles.

Let's just say I found then for $29. That said, they're really well made too. I found a few to get sticky, but that's nothing a little lube can't fix. As others have said, they are amazingly light, bite well and haven't had any of mine (up to 2.5) walk. I agree with "orangekyak" and his/her list of pros and cons.
