this is a rope. my first rope. and as my first rope it did everything i wanted it to do. it catches me when i fall. yet, only 7 falls i think? that isn't much for a 10.2 rope. it is good quality for it's price, it is a mammut after all. i would definetly not buy this rope again, it was a good rope. the name says it all, The Promo. it comes with some crappy little rope bag that broke too. oh yeah, and it's yellow and white, so no matter how much you wash it, it will always be black and look gross. it is holding up to the abuse quite well though.

This is a great draw, I'm not sure if the price listed here is right or what, because I got them for like 13 bucks each. They're light weight and clipping them is a dream. The wire gates are great for ice/snow because they don't freeze up, but naturally, they aren't key lock and can snag on stuff, but I knew that from the start when I bought them. They're spectra slung, so if you're into that that's a plus. I really wish they came in a longer size, i'd be on that like glue on a second grader's art project.

i really don't like this bag, it came free with my rope, and after school today i'm going to by a Metolius Rope Ranger. One of the zippers broke when i dropped the bag (with rope in it) off a 5 foot boulder. you can't flake the rope and get it to fit inside the bag all the way, the only way i could find was to coil it. I finally just cut the tarp out of it and have been flaking my rope onto the tarp and rolling up the tarp and then keeping it closed with a bungee cord. It works, it was free, so i use it.

great book, joe simpson is a great author. yes, there are thousands of arguements over if "simon did the right thing" read the book, you'll agree with both simon and joe. they both would've died had he not cut the rope. its plain and simple, both dead, or both alive. obviously both alive is better, and that's what happened.

a great book, not only because of the adventure it tells of, but also because Krakauer is such a great author. i have all of his books, they're great!
