DRY TOOL TEST ONLY - WILL REFINE AFTER ICE.

The tool has some flex in in when weighted with just one hand. It's a solid shaft of carbon steel so it's thinner, but apparantley less rigid than bent tubular steel. The upper grips take a toll on your hands unles you're using heavy gloves which dull sensitivy and control anyway. They have good control pointing and sticking from the lower grip which is surprisingly comfortable. Overall, a new twist on the leashless market, but be warned: The manufacturer's material included with the tool claims the tool is usable for 1-3 seasons depending on use. The pick is attached by bolts that are crushed, so changing picks does not seem to an option (spare picked not offered at the time of this review). This seems to be the first disposable tool on the market. I hear good things about ice performance, so I'll check back once I get there.

I would like to give 4.25 / 4.5 but there is no fractional rating. These are the easiest pieces of pro I have to place. They feel more solid than any of my other passive gear. The only gripe I have is that the cables could be a little stiffer on the 3 largest sizes since they are cowbell sized. It might help in a overhead placement. Having said that, I still recommend them above my older set of BD's.

For a climber who is 5'10" and 210, a COMFORTABLE, XL harness is a rare find that my legs will fit into. FOUND IT! The tubing over the gear loops keeps them propped open nicely for re-racking while cleaning. Excellent adjustability. The only reason I gave 4/5 is the rear haul loop. I feel if it was double thickness, it might be easier to access while worn on the body. That minor concern aside, this is my favorite harness (3 others tried before this).

The ball lock is bomber! It's automatic locking is as close to foolproof as you can get. I would have given 5 stars, but the cost compared to other manufacturers is noticibly higher. Aside from that, I use them exclusively for anchors and pulleys while the william (wider at one end) is perfect for belaying.

These shoes also work well for wider feet as the stretch is great. There is minimal break-in and I've used them to boulder and trad. climb without having to take them off in between sessions.
