One of the best compasses out there. Mirror sighting is simple and intuitive and the mirrored cover has an actual hinge with a pin, not just a folded piece of plastic like outher cheaper models. I could see that being a problem on others. Easy to set the declination with the little key that's included. Anti-swing liquid that brings the needle to a stop very quickly. Clinometer is helpful if you backcountry ski or do any mountaineering and want to be avy aware. Backpacker Editor's Choice is a solid endorsement as well.

I bought the 2003 and 2004 calendars together and they were cheaper as a package. Definitely cool calendars. A little different than your typical college nudie calendars. Black and white, artistic, tasteful photos of women climbing nude. He also sells male calendars for the ladies (or the guys if you swing that way).

The industry standard in this category. I've had mine for three years now. Battery life is excellent. I've used it for everything from climbing to trail running at night to working under my truck. Excellent, durable product. I think I'm going to give it to my Dad and buy the Tikka Plus though. :-)

I saw this pile of paper at the gym and flipped through it. I quickly realized it was one of the most unholy pieces of sh!t I've ever read.
