Would the lower rappels off the tower also be considered points of aid? I guess to do a "free" ascent of the Mace one would have to downclimb(or jump)off all the rappels and reach the ground without weighting the rope! lol

That is the rappel anchor at the top of the Mace ....and it also serves as the summit register...LOL
