4 out of 5 stars I don't know - shinbones weigh a lot, but that's kind of extreme. Looks like he's having fun, though!

Ouch - that buttress doesn't sound too sanitary, either . . . Bactine! Campho-phenique! Monkey-blood! Stat!

notice it was "sarcat" who said you were top-roped. sarcasm is the game there . . . he was just teasing I 'spect. Cool slab - I recently started gettin' to know OK's slab mecca, Baldy Peak at Quartz Mt. - rouch, sharp quartzy granite, FUN! My fingertips will never be the same, especially since I'm dyin' to go back ASAP . . .
good lead; place that pro though! Road rash is no fun

4 out of 5 stars good one - gettin' much respect, especially for a tr shot (no dis here - if you can make tr look good, more power to you!)

very nice - is "fine nine" the grade, as well? also, what kind of rock is that?

View this Photo
Striking shot - greeted me as I fired up the machine this morning, good start to the day - one of my top 5 pics from the site; something about your focus (the climber especially, but the pic as well) - will look for 'refusing to fall'

rock big, climber small

4 out of 5 stars red- or pink-point? pink sling on that draw, anyway

not accusatory, just curious

ummmmm, I don't remember that one . . . hope I wasn't on belay 'cause if so, I missed it completely

I think you meant your left shoulder, right?

View this Photo
you can do this at Sedona, Arizona USA as well (ask about Slide Rock), except I don't remember any that give you nice air like that one - looks like fun!

5 out of 5 stars very nice - maybe it's the sulfur in the water, that makes him so colorful

4 out of 5 stars sue is cool - looks real relaxed. I like these silhouette-framed numbers, accentuates the ridge in the back nicely

5 out of 5 stars glad you mentioned chimneys in the title, 'cause when I saw it small on the front page, I thought it was somebody staggering on a snowy summit - but nay, it's a killer killer chimney shot! Dang but that Terry gets around. Glad you didn't have her look up, either - un-posed is preferable, in my book.

4 out of 5 stars very expressive - been feelin' that way too!

Very nice, and the spotter would be a poser were he not so close to the climber! "Oublie la tete, Francois, sorte de la photo!" Good spotting technique, and snappy trousers to boot.

If it's a bowline it's got a Yosemite finish on it, 'cause a straight bowline finishes toward the loop-end; but Y-finish is standard for climbing knot, maybe y'all don't even mention it.

If you don't wear a helmet, at least land on Dad if you fall. Climb on, laddie! Amazing.

4 out of 5 stars how is stemming "making it harder?" maybe it's me but a good stem is easier than finger-crack any day . . .

Sweet shot, though at first glance I thought it was of a solstice celebration or the long-awaited landing of moon-men . . . wait-Lunar Boulders . . .

Look at that sky!

Glad to see you Texans enjoying the weather as well. Brilliant winter warmth up here in OK!

4 out of 5 stars "I've stood at the base of this thing and it's no different from ten thousand other 1 pitch crack routes all over the western U.S., "-
Enthusiasm police!
at least climb it before you ho-hum it, eh?

plus, 1-pitch crack routes are sweet! especially if they eat stoppers.

that whole caprock looks like it's about to slide right off there

We would have found the route more easily, with a photo like this: Nice touch. Now, why did I extend the sling on that first bolt?

Hey, I thought I made a few more moves at least! Looks a lot easier from here, eh?

5 out of 5 stars good title for a well-noticed photo-haiku. is this puddle in a big hueco?

4 out of 5 stars nice one - and those hairs look to be on a mole, not on the nose itself. glad you kept 'em to scare the preening prissies. don't get 'em started on trimming in Community, mind you, they don't stop at the nose!

View this Photo
hey - nice one! leading well within your comfort level's just plain wise, for a 2nd time, ain't it? safety yellow's a good color for a brain bucket, too. all mountaineery lookin'. you probably use your brain in your profession, right? so it's cool.

View this Photo
4 out of 5 stars OK get rid of the nose hairs. And the mole. And the wrinkles. Comb the guy's hair while you're at it, why dontcha! Friggin' hippy . . . . God forbid a photo - or a person - should have unique characteristics. So much better to ignore imperfections and pretend "blemishes" don't exist. Did I mention the pansies are blooming early this year? I also think it's more fun if you don't notice the climber right away (and I didn't) - which added to the "oh cool" factor when I did see it. Kind of a gestaalt thingy.

He took this pic largely to find out if it had been done/what it's called - new area you know. 10c actually, according to the listings. I'll be training other offwidths to come get this one - it was fun up to there! The left side protrudes a couple of inches and the inside is lump city.

5 out of 5 stars Is Russell simul-toproping there? Cool idea, especially on the slabs there. A bit of coaching?

4 out of 5 stars Thanks Terry - I climbed around on the fallen tree itself, thinking to shoot from there, but ended up bushwhacking back to the rocks behind.

aptly named though - doesn't "freiflug" mean "Free flight" ?

Is it that much gear, or is it just a 'biner for every piece? Looks like the latter, and a standard rack.

View this Photo
both, I'm afraid!

Thanks meanie - 'twas my first 5.9 lead some time ago, fall gathering '04 to be precise, and the one that supplied altogether-too-much-adrenaline for a lightweight drinker wading down into a tequila-soaked parking lot . . . so it's safe to say it gets to my head, too.

This looks so much like the area I was at yesterday here in Oklahoma, that I did a major double-take. Color, texture, shapes and fissure-patterns. Wow.

Yes, yes - grooming a rope gun for my old age!

yeah, there's another one in the series with better focus, but the action's not as good. I couldn't decide so I put 'em both up.

drag wasn't too bad, really. A longer sling up there would've been nice, a revolver even nicer, but I don't remember it being an issue. The horizontal's only about 25 ft. up

View this Photo
not much for feet, left of this big step, and the wee crack was more useful for pro; the flake I'm stepping off of's about 15 feet tall, and I hadn't protected it.

View this Photo
note the bomber jam on the right hand - pulls the feet into the wall

looks like you're done with stems and seeds, and rolling a one-hander for the road! Or, was your hand sore from the sewing? Looks like fun.

however, that is not in fact dave bitchin' in this photo, eh? rather, steve . . . sending?
