I saw your edit right after i posted. Sorry for the reiterance. They thought the first 10 were new when they were doing it, but if you know the first 5 were done prior, you may be right. The next 5 pitches definately were new. So Resurrection may technically be a combo of Zues/Resurrection/Free South Face, but its one of the most amazing climbs anywhere, and according to the first/first free ascentionists; better, harder, longer, and more sustained than some of the Valley's most classic trade routes such as Astroman, The Rostrum, and The Gates of Delirium. The Triple Direct is an example of a name given to a route that is a combo of routes, so I think they are totally justified in naming their route/link up "Resurrection". They actually were trying to pay respect and homage to Galen with their name as well.

Part of the route "Resurrection" is the old South face route; yes, you are correct. But 10 of the 18 pitches are totally new and seperate from what Galen and friends climbed. The upper headwall is the same line with minor variations for free climbing, but the lower pitches are a completely new and independant line from the south face route. Although, Sean Jones did go back with Jake Jones later in the season, and they freed this line as well at 11+. Hope this clears your confusion. No need to get all excited and jump to conclusions.

I never would have imagined anyone would comment on his clothes. Grammicci quick dry pants, a wind shell, and hiking boots. The pack is used all the time for mountain trips, and the hat keeps sun out of the eyes. I am curious though what clothes people think wouldn't be good for a day in the mountains.
shooting slides still; as for beta on the route, and it will be in the new valley guide book. I did find something by googling, http://www.ai.sri.com/~herson/climbing/beta/gates.html , but I don't know who's info, so take it with a grain of salt.
