My friend Huong works her way up the Chode Route at Allenbrook in Atlanta. She had never climbed outdoors before this and had a good time doing some great climbing. This is a nice spot for new climbers to try out real rock.

Rumors Right is a strenuous (for me anyway) 5.10c climb that I've made a kind of project for myself. Earlier this summer, Andrea and I flailed around on it quite a while before figuring out enough of the sequence to get us about halfway through the climb. This time, I got up to the big V and had only a few feet to go before peeling off. Next time, maybe I'll actually send it! Photo by Huong.

My son shot this as I topped out on Beginners (5.6). This move is actually the most difficult of the route, and not often done. Allenbrook has a large ledge about 10' below the approach path, which is where many build their anchors. My partner on this climb was a Petzl BASIC.

I got pumped on the idea of a night climb, from reading some posts. So, here I am preparing to rappel down and TR solo back up. My son is taking pictures with a throwaway camera.

This is me at Allenbrook (Roswell, Ga). I'm not sure which route it is. It was my third or fouth time climbing, circa 1996. Sorry it's a little fuzzy.

I think this route is rumors right 5.10. It is to the right side of the overhanging section.
