Too bad it didn't last the rest of the route. But that's another story...and shall be told another time.

This was the first time that Terry and I led trad.... and the fact that it was a 5 pitch climb made it even more exhilarating! This is Terry looking for pro on the start of the 2nd pitch.

My son Steven follows the seventh pitch A0 bolt ladder on Eagle Dance on 3/26/06. Great day, but we got hit with 40 to 50 mph gusts as we topped out.

The hike in was long but the route was well worth it!

This is pic 1 of 5, of me on the first pitch of Solar Slab . . . it was a gorgeous January day, but by the end of the day a haze blew in and it was cold! It took us a little longer than expected to get up the gully, and so we had to bail after the third pitch. Can't wait to get back . . .

On the way in to Solar Slab this Mojave Rattlesnake was basking in the sun....I thought it rather cool for snakes....was around 65 degress.....apparently he did not think so.....makes ya think about all the thrashing one does on backcountry approaches......yikes.....

A successful send of the Johnny Vegas-Solar Slab link-up resulted in an adventurous evening of rapelling in the dark. The route looks much more appealing in the early morning light.

Todd spent too many pitches in his brand new rock shoes (5.10 Mojaves)... They did the job perfectly, but left his feet a psychedelic shade of pumpkin...!
