Too bad it didn't last the rest of the route. But that's another story...and shall be told another time.

This was the first time that Terry and I led trad.... and the fact that it was a 5 pitch climb made it even more exhilarating! This is Terry looking for pro on the start of the 2nd pitch.

On the way in to Solar Slab this Mojave Rattlesnake was basking in the sun....I thought it rather cool for snakes....was around 65 degress.....apparently he did not think so.....makes ya think about all the thrashing one does on backcountry approaches......yikes.....

A successful send of the Johnny Vegas-Solar Slab link-up resulted in an adventurous evening of rapelling in the dark. The route looks much more appealing in the early morning light.

Todd spent too many pitches in his brand new rock shoes (5.10 Mojaves)... They did the job perfectly, but left his feet a psychedelic shade of pumpkin...!
