Watch out for that tree. This route is better to lead than to TR.

Very good route. More like a 5.7! The day was absolutely beautiful (April 1st 2006)

A lazy sunday afternoon in early May at Mont Rigaud. We were worried the weather would turn bad, but the clouds opened up and the sun came out.
This section of rock has three different routes leading to one anchor, each rated 5.10/11. This is my brother Chris, resting near the crux of the rightmost route. We had a rough time trying to lead it so we decided to top rope and go all out on it, and eventually the sequence was discovered.

Took the day off work to go climb on an absolutely gorgeous day. Still in black fly season, we got spared that day... no bugs showed up. We were trying a 5.8ish route on the center wall at Rigaud.

Me trying to find out where the flip did this route go.
Doing this beats the shins out of being cooped up in my office at work... Photo taken by Steve, perced up on a ledge.

This is a shot of me (Nik MacLean aka TallNik) at Rigaud, an hour west of downtown Montreal. Short sport lines exist here (12.5m), but the rock is beautiful, the view good, and friends are a plenty. My friend Jeremy took the shot, and Ian is on belay. This shot was taken in Mid-April, and we were super lucky with the weather. Probably around 18C-20C (65F?)

My technique isn't the best, but i'm working on it. My partner didn't tell me what the rating was before i onsighted it. About half-way up he said "oh by the way, you're on a 5.10". Previously i had only climbed as far as 5.9 .

Falling!!! This route is right of the classic 5.9 and left of both the 5.8 (chimney) and 5.12a. It's a very demanding route since it's somewhat inclined. Last bolt is far and can cause a dangerous fall if belayer is not fully ready.

This photo was taken in early June of 2002. It's a picture of Asch seconding an unknown single pitch to the far right (around two corners) of center wall. Im not sure if these are new routes or not, but i haven't seen them before. Probably a few 10s he

This is a photo of Vertigo at Mont Rigaud. The crux of the climb is just below the ledge (at the bottom of the photo). The climber is me and my friend Kurt took the picture.
