As the title says... This is my buddy Weston from last summer when we were in Font. It was only a few days, but it was AMAZING!

Sloper in the Cross-hairs...

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Sloper in the Cross-hairs...

Weston zooming in on his target. Another pic from Font last summer... no guidebooks, no route names, just chalk and shoes, and some good rc.com friends. It was a sandstone playground!

Myself at Bas Cuvier Campsite

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Myself at Bas Cuvier Campsite

This is my profile photo. It was taken in the Bas Cuvier campsite. It is sad that the campsite is now closed. It was the gathering place for all the visiting boulderers to Fontainbleau. I was camping there for 3 weeks under a shady apple tree.

somewhere in Bleau

Average Rating = 3.50/5 somewhere in Bleau

This was, I believe a 5a Boulder in Fontaine Bleau. Can't remember where exactly. But I liked the moves. It's always a bit tricky to go over the top.

La Dalle du Reveil-matin in Bas Cuvier

Average Rating = 3.33/5 La Dalle du Reveil-matin in Bas Cuvier

Julia G. on "The morning wake-up slab", #12 on the blue circuit at Bas Cuvier. It's rated 4+, which is US V0 or V1 (?). Probably a little harder in the middle of summer, when this shot was taken.

Fontainebleau profile pic

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Fontainebleau profile pic

Mike aka Tommyguns at the entrance map of Bas Cuvier, Fontainebleau France. Probably not one of the more popular routes at the area due to its extreme grade and height. I met people from half a dozen countries on this trip and enjoyed some stellar climbing in some unusually temperate sunny fall weather. I am strangely reminded of RRG everytime I visit Font.

What you need in Bleau.

Average Rating = 0.00/5 What you need in Bleau.

  • A crashpad, though we had only one for a group of ten : we tried what we were sure to top out and we had to storm our brains a few times (I'll remember the Blue #3 of the 95.2 for a long time, with its endless runout on slopers, 15 feet high, the last problem of the weekend, with a spotter as tired as I was, and no pad).
  • One good spotter or more... Or the emergency number (dial 15 and here they are!).
  • A doormat : two models are shown here, one very small! Especially after rainy days, the sandy soil can be a little bit sticky, and you will loose all your adherence.
  • Some chalk, some brushes of different sizes, bound on a long stick to brush the highest "holds" of the problem. DOn't forget to brush the foot holds at the bottom, it can be extremely useful!
  • Some ppl use a piece of thin close in which some chalk is wrapped, and they hit against the holds... I'm not sure it's really useful... We had an argument about this with my friends and we don't all think the same.
  • A strong brain (not shown here.
