I bumped into Sir Chris Bonington at the Thangboche Monastery during the 40th anniversary tour of the first ascent of Mt. Everest.

November 2003 we climbed Pumori's SW ridge to the summit snow slopes which were far to unstable to climb with any respect for our lives. The climb offered some great shots of the big guy (Everest).

In the Khumbu it takes a concerted effort to not get good mountain photos. This one was shot from our basecamp.

We got a look at almost every aspect of this mountain. We acclimated on Island peak and stared at the south Pilar in wonder. We then set up shop on Pumori and its west face was a constant companion

I took this picture of Mt. Everest almost 4 years ago, I think from near Namche Bazaar but i could be wrong on that.
