A fun route that gets loads of African summer sun! This boulder is situated on the slopes of Mooihoek Mountain and has a short 5 min uphill walk-in.

Interesting climb, slab 1st pitch on positive gradient. 2nd pitch requires moving over a bulge and then easy climb to 3rd stance. Top out with easy scramble to top, approx 90m high. Nice 30m ab from 2nd belay point.

I took this photo from a route called "rhino", just next to "Fight the feeling". On the third pitch the route suddenly runs out of grip, so in a matter of about fifteen minutes we heard the words "ok, so what the hell do I do now?!" twice. The next day, when we did that route, we found out why. . .there's absolutely nothing to hold onto at that spot. You just hope for some friction. Apparently some stone broke away through time and left the route much more difficult than what it was origionally.

This is Danie Kritzinger on the traverse that leads to the hanging belay for Acrophobia 20(5.10c). The traverse itself is 19(5.10b). I took this photo on our January 2004 trip to Mt Everest park near Harrismith.

This is a short 5.9 on the well known 'Ostrich Egg' boulder at MT Everest Reserve. The cool thing about the boulders in this area is their accessiblity - they are all within 5 - 100m from a dirt road. In fact at this boulder, it is possible to 'belay from your bumper'.

My first photo submission to RC. This is a pic taken just after a storm at sunset. It is a view from our chalet at MT Everest Reserve, South Africa. This awesome reserve offers hundreds of routes, sport and trad, on quality sandstone. It is one of South Africa's best climbing areas. Nikon Coolpix 5700 - No Photoshopping!

My friends girl friend climbing the first pitch of Rhino. Note the two ropes, she was belayed from top and bottom at the same time to safeguard her on the traverse. This is quite a fun little 5.6ish 3 pitch climb.

I can't remember the name of this awesome climb. I think it might be called Rocket in your Pocket, but I'll check up on it.

This a fantastic route! A very airy 19 (5.10b) traverse gets you to the route itself. As the route guide (only available from Mt Everest Park) says: Pants filling stuff!

This climb shares the first three bolts of the traverse for Acrophobia, and then heads straight up to the chains. Nice 'n exposed! :-)
