on this nice snow arete ther was a 50 meter deep creavase on the left and on the right a hundred meter drop off very exposed...and at the end was a seven foot jump onto a tiny snow bridge...very fun and exciting stuff... and of course i was elected to go first ..mmmm ...Pedro took this picture of me on day 10 of 12 in the valley paron

After a quick six hours pedro and I made it to the summit of artesonraju, in perfect late season conditions. Quitaraju and alpamayo can be seen in the background.

From Artesonraju moraine camp, I shot this picture of the full moon rising over Piramide de Garcilaso. The locals say that the full moon brings bad weather and I believe it! Six days of clouds left few photo opportunities...I was lucky to get this one!
