Yanqui climbing near Naranja Mecanica

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Yanqui climbing near Naranja Mecanica

Gaby Cendoya diligently watching yanqui climb some semi-trad 5.10 route, which involves gear placements higher up. The beautiful orange face starting up obvious holds about 25 feet to the left is called Naranja Mecanica and was probably the first 5.12d sport route equipped in Argentina, although it wasn't redpointed until Axel Von Müller pulled it off in the millennium 2000.

Slabs build character

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Slabs build character

Yanqui on a nice, but sharp, 5.10 slab route nearby to the refugio belonging to Club Andino Córdoba. Here's an example where I don't know whether to call the route sport or trad. There are no gear placements, but the route is pretty runout, although I imagine it was bolted on rappel.

Gaby seconding on Cerro de la Cruz

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Gaby seconding on Cerro de la Cruz

Gaby seconding the first pitch on an ascent of the Laja de Peterek (5.10c/d). To do this route, start with the first two standard pitches on Cerro de la Cruz (each about 5.9). Then comes the roller coster pitch of the Laja (too much fun). Finish via a 5.10a face pitch going up and right (the straight up version of the face is around 5.11a). After that scramble to the top by easy 5th class climbing and walk down (although rappeling is also possible). This makes for a 4-star route, so why does Gatito only give it one star in the guide?
