This sis a picture from the summit of cotopaxi. The three mountains you see are Tunguruahua, Eltar, and Sangay. In order from front to back. This sia an incredible place, and stunning place that it is pretty easy to take a good photo.

Looking out towards the Pacific from the slopes half way up, the low lands of Equador unravel. The enormous frigid, desert at the mountains base where the first refugio is(many people bypass it- small like an old cabin)is where Pele and the Brazil boys came to practice to acclimitize before heading to Mexico to play with full lungs.

These boulders, some which were the size of houses, lay miles from Cotopaxi on a plateau after being launched from one of Cotopaxi's many eruptions. This photo was stitched in Photoshop from 5 individual snapshots. Photo: Frank Corl

Our gang taking a final big rest below the obvious rockband seen from as far away as Quito, before heading to the summit. We could see the Pacific from the top as well as out into the hazy Amazon rainforest! A classsy mountain to do.

Picture of an ice bridge on Mt. Cotopaxi, Ecuador. This was my first mountaineering trip. I'm glad we crossed it in the dark on the way up because the deep cravass underneath it probably would have freaked me out.

This is my sister Alex taking a picture of the great Cotopaxi, the most popular volcano in Ecuador and one of the highests in the world. Im taking the picture. Right behind me there is a lake and we are at about 4400 mts. from sea level. It takes 20 min. to drive to this lake from the main highway, and it takes another 25 min. to get to a parking place where we begin our journey to the cotopaxi summit.

This is the Ruminiahui mountain. I took the picture from the lake at the Cotopaxi volcano. I am at about 4400 mts. of altitude. Around this area is posible to do biking, treking and camping. This is one of the many mountains of the andes that you can see from Cotopaxi.
