Pointing Atop the Truffle TowerA few more moves up past the anchor to the summit, to where one can see the brave new world toward which we are venturing, whereupon the urge to point that out for the rest of humanity is irresistable. Photo by Audrey. The Pointing Collection. 21 Oct 2006

First Time PointingNot as easy as it looks, this pointing to our bright, new tomorrow. Should definitely look at where one is pointing, lest ending up pointing without the full sincerity said pointing moment deserves. With practice, this one too would one day point with confidence and conviction. The Pointing Collection. 21 Oct 2006

Ted Shread on Paul's Backyard in Alabama HillsClimber on an excellent finger crack amid a whole lot of bolt lines. To the left is the sparsely bolted Paul's Paradise, rated 5.9+. The top of the right side of this wall is actually visible from the closest pullout on the road. Just walk up the rocky hill in between a drumstick shaped pillar and this wall, instead of circling all the way around the far side as described by guidebook. NE facing, morning sun. 22 Oct 2006

Tuttle Creek CampgroundTuttle Creek Campground has many nice sites with a scenic backdrop and a convenient creek running through it. Although you can legally camp anywhere in the Alabama Hills, it is preferable to stay in the campground to minimize our impact in this area.
