John Bachar climbing 5.11a

Average Rating = 0.00/5 John Bachar climbing 5.11a

My buddy and I were in JT April 14-17 2006 and met a nice fellow who gave us advice on where to set up TR (he recommended Thin Wall). We chatted a bit, and then he proceeded to solo 2 5.8ish routes in front of us, then walked off and soloed Out for Lunch (5.11a). Our jaws dropped. Weeks later, after seeing pictures of him in recent climbing magazines, I've come to realize we met and watched John Bachar free soloing in JT. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. This is 1 of 4 pics.

Jeff and Caryn on Eff Eight

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Jeff and Caryn on Eff Eight

It was right after two days of rain so everything on Echo Rock was bombed. We found this pretty cool looking crack with no wait and that was good enough for us. It could be bouldered as well, but it is a highball.

Jeff making his way up the crack on Eff Eight

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Jeff making his way up the crack on Eff Eight

The bottom section is easy with a nice juggy crack to pull up on. The top is slaby and becomes difficult to protect.

Raymond leads a sport route in Echo Cove

Average Rating = 3.33/5 Raymond leads a sport route in Echo Cove

Raymond starts up a fun steep jug haul in Echo Cove. I believe this route is Ben Dover, but I'm not sure. It is the left of two routes just uphill from Classic Thin Crack.
