Driving through Joshua Tree on the way to Tucson, we stopped at this pullout coming from the West Entrance, so I climbed around while my dad took pictures of the place.

Some guys saw a snake and took turns to "get it out of the bushes." We were rooting for the snake to rid the world of an idiot or two. Photo taken from Cranny on the west face of Trashcan Rock. 30 Apr 2006

Double crack on west face of Trash Can Rock. I thought the last 10 feet was a little run out with the potential for decking on a ledge. Of course, I might have missed an obvious gear placement along the way!

Jim's first rock in JT. He came a long way and was determined to feel the JT crack.

I found this old picture while rummaging through an old junk box. I am leading a route here called Butterfly Crack. It has a nice little 5.11c (V3) boulder problem start and then eases off to 5.9 for the remaining 30 feet or so. This was most likely 1983.

Austin leading Cresent Wrench (5.10d). Pretty stout for the grade. Took an unexpected 20ft lob right at the end of the route.
