Barely visible against the sunny rock, I lead the last section of Pin Chimney, an excellent 5.8 trad route at Sandrock. Should have been wearing a blue shirt! Photo by Larry.

This shot caught my eye as a possible poster, so I worked with it. Now I am using it as a profile shot.

I took this with the idea of a poster from backlighting. I think it works, anyway, I like it.

My friends and I had done some hard climbs on their first visit to Sandrock, so I thought it'd be nice to end the day with the Standard Route, an easy-going lead for me and a nice view of the valley at sundown from the Pinnacle for Huong and Larry. Photo by Larry.

Though I still had some hard moves ahead of me at this point, I was very happy to have made it through the cheese-grater crimps of Misty's crux section. This was my first redpoint of a 5.10, and I was pretty stoked about it! Photo by Frank Nederhand.

Nga lays back the crack on Faith, a nice 5.8 at Sandrock. Though rain was threatening all day, we got in a good day of climbing without getting wet.

Brand new Metolius TCU #00, out of the box, never fallen on or placed, first time placed, took a break and rested on it, axle broke and down he went.

I was trying to red point this climb but i fell right after the second bolt (not a particularly hard section) and instead of my belayer letting me hangdog he lowered me all the way to the ground. Considering the crux is in the first few moves, if you dont stem, I was really pumped out but was able to get it in the end. Great Climb.

Jeopard finally sent Midget Digits clean and here we're having a friendly discussion about how much I don't wish to clean it.

Okay, so I let jeopard talk me into cleaning this route although I didn't want to. I was able to send it clean because once you get past the painful part (up to about the second bolt) I just felt obligated to get it over with. I'll give him credit, it was a fun route that I'll still complain about.

There's really only 3 warm-up routes at Sandrock. This is one of them. Kinda slopey for its grade once you get up a little bit, but I enjoy climbing it over and over and over and over and ......

Finishing Misty. My only picture of the route because the photographer was too scared after watching my one good fall.

the dixie craggers atlas discribed sand rocks as less than pristine. while i cant argue with that discription, i still found the views pleasant......
