I love my pack

Average Rating = 1.00/5 I love my pack

Just a tribute shot to my beloved Palisade. This was taken at a lake at 4600 meters in the Cordillera Blanca, not far south of Huascaran. Surrounding this lake are four 6000 meter peaks, all of whose names I forget. Beautiful cold morning (my Nalgene froze solid in my tent overnight...that was a first for me), crisp clear air, and excellent morning sunlight. All in all a good place to be. Scanned from Kodak 400 Slide Film.

Early morning sun over glacial lake

Average Rating = 2.00/5 Early morning sun over glacial lake

Again, I forget the name of the peaks surrounding this beautiful lake, which lies at about 4600 meters in the heart of the Cordillera Blanca, not far south of Huascaran. A little different shot, this time with a couple of my friends for perspective. Kodak 400 Slide Film.

Early morning sun over glacial lake

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Early morning sun over glacial lake

This slide was taken in the early morning hours after a 20 km hike in the previous day. This lake lies in the Cordillera Blanca, south of Huascaran. I forget the name of the peaks around the lake, and the specific lake name, but I'll do some checking. It was one of 2 lakes and a large piece of Huascaran del Norte that flattened the town of Yungay in 1970 after a massive earthquake, killing more than 50,000 people. Absolutely beautiful scene this day, with nobody around except my friends and myself, surrounded by four 6000 meter peaks. Heaven on earth? Quite possibly.

Huascaran at Sunset

Average Rating = 2.00/5 Huascaran at Sunset

I took this shot from the rooftop of our hostel in Huaraz around the beginning of August this year after a few days spent trekking in the Cordillera Blanca. Nothing too special, but I like the light.

Sunset at Garden of the Gods

Average Rating = 2.20/5 Sunset at Garden of the Gods

One evening after climbing at the Garden I talked to a couple guys heading up West Point Crack, a 3 pitch 5.8. The pro is mixed. Here the leader is preparing to belay his follower after the first pitch. I enjoyed the color that the sunset added to the already red rock.
