Well, there is a lot of buzz about this route, but not many pictures of the beautiful lower part. Here is one of Adam Clarke working his way through the middle section of the lower pitch. Edited in PhotoShop for the color/black and white effect.

This is the top of the first section of the route. Above is the signature roof. We usually do this route in 2 pitches, this being a good place to stop and take in the views! To the climber's left (where the photographer is sitting) is a large ledge big enough for several people to hang out and enjoy the scenery.

Super fun 5.9 with a lot of exposure. The crux is not the roof but the blank 8 foot wall right before the anchors. Everyone should climb this or toprope it..

Amanda and I arrived at Magazine the day after the Forestry Department decided to burn off 4700 acres of forest in preparation of the new $40million lodge & 10 cabins being built on top of Magazine. Big impact! You can still see the smoke in the valley in this pic.

Amanda just topped out Cruise Control. This is a pretty nice 5.7 flake. What I love about is that you have 5.11 & 12s on both sides of you that you can swing to if you want to up the stakes. Plus it has a great view of the valley from the cave on top.

Here I am belaying on Cruise Control. This route is a great route to trad or toprope. I can't get over the wonderful cave on top you can chill in. You have a great view of the Nose and a couple other classic routes from here.

While Amanda & I topped out Cruise Control. We watched a couple of climbers from Tulsa, Chuck & Chuck, lead the Nose. Great guys. Here Chuck is cleaning the route.
The Nose is another awesome Magazine must do.

This is me on the mantle doing it all wrong. It was my first mantle on my first overhang. I was pretty psyched out by the size of the overhang but its only a 5.9 so i was able to pull it off. Looks more impressive than it really is.

Taken by Janet in December 2002. The crux is just ahead. French Connection is an amazing sport line!

This is a picture taken from my favorite ledge at Mt. Magazine, located right in the middle of crag central. The lake in the picture is blue mountain lake... I think. Oh, view is looking south, with the town of Havana on the left.
