Kelsey (prezwoodz) looks all happy from the hanging belay at the top of the second pitch of Touchstone Wall. This was near the start of our day, before we ran out of water halfway through, spent 11.5 hours total on the wall, and rapped off after dark, almost too weak to pull the ropes together. Good times!

On our road trip we knew we would be right suckers if we skipped Zion. What an incredible place! We felt we didn't have the proper equipment (double ledge) for Prodigal Sun and so we chose a different route in Touchstone Wall. We started on the route at 9:30am in the blazing sun and were out of water by 3pm. The temperatures had reached 100 degrees that day and boy was it hot. We kept climbing through our dehydration and ate our only bit of food, a small grilled chicken sandwitch at about 4pm. We finally topped out on the route at 7:45pm or so and caught the last bit of sunset on the summit. We rapped down the route in the dark finally touching the ground again at 9pm. A good 11 and a half hours after we had started. We stumbled the the bus station where we were called Hero's by some nice tourists who gave us some water. To me they were the Hero's as I don't think I have ever been so thirsty in my life! Everyone keeps telling us that Touchstone would be a funace at this time of the year, but what the heck do they know.

A nice route- following a right facing crack. It is fun, but tends to try to spit out out to the right.

Cool route. Near the big bend- cerebrus wall. There are some cool cracks in this little area if you are into cragging.

This has got to be one of my favorite cracks here. Even if it is exspando.

This is me and mt friends on the first pitch of the touchstone wall. This picture was taken right after a huge rock slide on the Great White Throne.

If you look closely, you can see a team of climbers on the route. The lower climber is at the end of P1, and the upper is at the end of P2. The route is longer than it looks (8 pitches) - the top pitches are foreshortened because of perspective.

ATG200 backcleaned extensively at the start of the beautiful crack that makes up pitch 3.

ATG200 finishes with the bolt ladder on P1 and gets established in the crack that will carry us almost to the very top of this, our first successful Zion wall.

An easy leg haul of our piglet allows me to savor the view and appreciate my accomplishment after leading pitch 2, the crux of the climb for me.

That red speck is UASunflower jugging up P1 of Touchstone 5.9 C1. She was a member of a large party behind us. I took the pic from the hanging belay atop P2.

ATG200 and I finished with light to spare, but decided to wait for the next party to finish and all head down together. We had to wait kind of a long time, but still, it was a wise choice, since we didn't know exactly how to get off.

Unknown climber on Squeeze Play (10a). Fun hand crack to double cracks. Climber let out a hoot and holler when she reached the chains!

second pitch of touchstone. the gear is ok...but who's idea is the shoestring. i sliced my finger open really bad turning the roof and we didn't bring and bandages...so we kept climbing with me squirting blood all over the thing...red stains belong to me guys, sorry!

the first pitch was cool and we think...i repeat...think that it might go free with the bolt ladder...anyone wanna go with me to try?

what a cool little tower this is. the route touchstone wall is begging for everyone to climb it!
