TopoAs to the best of my memory, the topo is fairly accurate. All (x's) represent bomber bolts. All (p's) represent fixed pitons. The possible variation is highly recommended as it is probably the more natural way to summit the spire.

Second Ascent of Hall of SmearsThe second ascent of hall of Smears 5.11+ in the South Fork of Taylor Creek (May 1992). The first few moves of the route involve a delicate mantle followed by insecure and balancy sidepull crimps...not a good time to sneeze :)
