A cool picture of Snowpatch Spire taken last year by Chris Sampson. Helped my descision to go again this year (not like you need to twist my arm or anything).

See that little man at the base of Snowpatch Spire in the Bugaboos in SE British Colombia? Thats me. The wall goes on, oh, about 800ft further. I'm on the glacier approaching the spire, and my partner Tyler is taking this photo from about 3/4 of a mile away.

Here I am looking at the West Face of Snowpatch Spire, guide book out, checking out all the great lines. You can see Surfs Up Ledge half way up on the right sky line.

From surfs up ledge you have two options as to where to go. To the left is the most enjoyable 5.9, and to the right you have a less enjoyable 5.7 option. Here's Kathrin half way up the route on Surfs up ledge thumbing through the guide trying to figure it all out.

I took this photo from the top of the South Summit looking across the West Face at a couple of rock climbing good ol' boys from Tennessee. They're on the third to last pitch.

This shot brings 3 of the main objectives for Bugaboo climbers together in one frame. We were there in early August and there was still a lot of snow in the Howser group - the Becky Chounaird had a 30 foot summitt cornice!

Snowpatch Spire is the rock on the left, Bugaboo Spire is on the right, and the col is, of course, in between. The Howser Towers are in the distance beyond the col.
