At the topThis is me (sbclimber) on top of the formation after just climbing all 3 pitches of "Ending Crack" (including the final 10a short pitch in the gully above) in the rain. This was my second trad lead and quite scary in the rain. see view from base of wall

Seth on Tree Root, 5.5 RThis is my brother-in-law on Tree Root, 5.5R, climbing up to me at the top of one of the pitches. It's at the Black Wall, outside of Santa Barbara, California. A fun little climb. - Originally submitted by mrtristan on 2002-07-14

Ready or notGetting ready to lead both pitches of Tree Root on a gorgeous summer afternoon. Yeah it's only 5.5 but I've only ever led a handful of ptiches.

Leslie Rapping at NightA truly enjoyable evening; leaving home a bit after 4:30pm and heading to climb in Ojai. Leslie led her first true trad route that evening, and the crickets and tree frogs serenaded our descent.

Sespe Gorge - "Don't land on the car!"The wide angle from the top of "Ending Crack." Still t-shirt weather in the middle of winter. (And they say global warming is a bad thing....)

"Long Climb, or Pine to Pine"Loose, flaky, runout at top, not so easy, 5 old slings around mid-way "trees" (x2), secure, may need additional sling to be sure as these have been in the sun for who knows how long! Lots of loose, flaky large-ish size pieces that are treacherous. Some areas reasonably difficult to protect.
