coldclimb on white rastafarian

Average Rating = 3.88/5 coldclimb on white rastafarian

I jumped on this climb and got to the crux before deciding that trying it at my level without a group of spotters and a crashpad could end my current climbing trip early. So I went to take pics of John "trying" this problem. When he sends the problem on the second attempt! No Spotter, no beta, and no crashpad. Ballsy I say!

I've fallen one too many times on this route. Next weekend it's all over. (I'm not saying when next weekend is)

we went, we saw, and we walked away....

Average Rating = 2.00/5 we went, we saw, and we walked away....

This is number one on my most wanted list for the next trip. We weren't quite ready to commit to "the move" this time. Cant wait to get back out there and have another go, hopefully I'll be ready...

Mike on white rastafarian in the outback at jtree

Average Rating = 3.33/5 Mike on white rastafarian in the outback at jtree

I have fallen twice from the topout (25 feet) crux move is where i have my upper hand about 20 feet of the deck to an in your face mantle with a heelhook. I am 6'2 and my taller looking spotter is actually standing on a big rock and is about 6' tall. Hope that gives some height perspective. Every time i get up and start to heelhook, i think of falling 25 feet on my back.

Get Your Feet On!

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Get Your Feet On!

This is Al campusing the top moves on White Rastafarian. It was extra cold that day and this problem is super high, but we had 10 pads! I know it's not very original, but still a cool angle.

JTree classic V3 - Steveo the Mason Guy on White Rastafarian
This picture makes it look so short - hardly does the top out justice...heh. note the rock in drop zone! Also, for scale, note that Steve is like 6'5" serisously.

White Rastafarian

Average Rating = 3.24/5 White Rastafarian

This problem is pretty intimidating in person, but Doug fires the big reach and tops out. It's good to have a bunch of pads and spotters, but I wouldn't want to fall off the top of this one... (Canon Elan 7n, Sigma 28-105 f2.8-4, Kodak E100VS, and no, this is not the original sky in this photograph)

Past the crux, an alert spotter, pads below, and big holds ahead. What's there to worry about?

Me on White Rastafarian a classic John Long problem. This is about as high as I got without a crash pad, less than halfway. Makes for a good photo however
