(Well...kind of a sport route) Hard Drivin' - Edge up the 30ft pointed boulder to the top reach across to the main wall and clip the first bolt...yikes!

As opposed to the rest of my Black & White shots this one was taken with color film. (Fuji 200 ISO)

One of my favorite shots of Tom's Thumb, done in B&W (duh)

Josh clips the manky Leeper hanger. Classic crack and face to bird sh*t streak.

Somewhat contrived start but a pretty good route. Joins the wide crack of Garbanzo Bean at top.

Some consider the step across move to be the crux on this route. It is possible to climb the face below and to the right at 5.9. But that wouldn't be any fun...

Holdplease2 solo aiding on Hot Line, Tom's Thumb in the McDowells. The line goes free at 5.10b (sandbag), but it also makes for a cool clean aid practice line with a thin, left leaning crack, some offwidth, some really thin stuff, and a traverse. A little bit of everything in about 100 feet.

My partner Joe rapping off Tom's Thumb. I'm sitting on top. Treibers Deception is a tough 5.7 lead in my opinion (Hence the deception portion of the name/although that is actually supposed to reference the wiggy step-over). A great view of Phoenix! A fun day.

made it to the face moves near the top and puss'd out.
