My buddy Clev took this on our first day in the Wichitas. I'm still learning, so we toproped it. My first experience with hand & finger jamming - pleasant on granite.

I'm not sure as it seemed a little more challenging than what the guide says. Oh well it was fun anyways!

Here is a very thin crack on the road between the pullout for Lower Scott and Upper Scott. There are several lines up there that are worth bouldering, at the least. This is one of them.

a taste of what's to come - first sweet jam on the warmer-upper section, leading up to the roof crack proper. Thanks to jen (manat315) for the photo!

thanks to jen (manat315) for this photo, though it doesn't capture what a wrestling match I made of this "hard 9" roof crack. Are you supposed to kick the key pro, repeatedly? This is said to be a "good intro" to roof cracks, since you place your pro from a good stance before you pull up into the business. I was psyched for the redpoint it after hangdogging the hell out of it following berkly a year ago or so. Herndon's rad for soloing it on the FA - maybe "only" 5.9 but, who knew? The pro's so bomber, too! Same with roof corner, which I haven't even hit yet. Let's call it "preserving the onsight," shall we?

Stacy did a wonderful job of leading this stiff 5.9 located on Mount Scott in the Wichita Mountains of Oklahoma. The route has a scary 10 foot run-out at the crux. She cruised it.

A windy fall day. Jeff is doing a great job on Frankly Scarlet, a strange line. John, his belayer, looks like the Grim Reaper or something. I took the photo on Jeff's sweet camera.

We ran the TR at Dreamboat Annie a few times. I topped out in boots on the marginal arm/body offwidth, and scooted back to the car for the camera to shoot this sunset. What a fantastic weekend we had, great weather on Saturday climbing at Leaning Tower, cold Sunday, so we hiked into Panther Canyon and looked for the Icebox till it warmed up for a trip to Scott to climb. Then on to Meers for their famous burgers...tasty!
