RawhideSteven working Rawhide at The Grotto in Jamestown, Ca. This perfect 5.10d finger crack is situated between two of the many 50ft basalt columns nestled beneath Table Mountain. These columns are capped by blocky, overhanging terrain keeping us dry during a handful of unexpected spring showers.
This image was taken with a servo controlled camera atop a 30ft carbon fiber pole.

Climbing in the FogCharlie Benton working 'The Seam', V7, Indian Rock, Berkeley, Ca. This shot was taken from a servo controlled rig atop a 30ft carbon fiber pole.
-As my LX3 pole rig is nearing completion, I am planning on shooting the 'difficult to capture' Berkeley Rocks as my first project.
I kept my eye on this Northeast facing climb earlier this week, and noticed the face was barely exposed to the sun minutes before sunset.
Knowing this alignment wouldn't last past the weekend, I headed out with my brother to shoot the climb the next day with my Canon SD800 rig. Promising Thomas studio perfect lighting, we watched a typical 'Summer of 2010' fog bank sweep in and engulf the hills.
I took the opportunity to show Thomas how to use my rig, and did a little climbing myself.

Stenson RailWe found this cool V2ish arete towards the South end of Stenson Beach in Marin County, Ca. The tide was coming up fast which made for a short climbing session but cool shots.
The climber is about 10ft of the deck with several moves to go. He had to lower himself down from the slab where you see the chalk to keep his shoes dry!
For those wondering, this pic was taken with a Canon SD100 lofted by a 23ft pole. This technique offers some cool perspectives.

The Open Book, P2We scored a beautiful day in early November on the sunny Open Book. My friends and I climbed in two parties, and got some sweet shots of eachother on the route. Here I am pulling around the roof to the second belay above the impressive dihedral.

White Water BoulderingJust west of Evolution Valley on the JMT is Goddard Creek. My friends and I discovered this awsome slot in the creek 15+ feet deep with featured overhanging walls. A class 3 rapid pours into the slot creating a deep fast moving pool of white water.
We first tested out the pool by cautiously jumping, then diving deeper and deeper. None of us touched the bottom. Traversing barefoot down on both sides of the slot, we found numerous problems with large juggs and steep moves, most of which were dry. And when you slip, icecold water and a quick swim into an eddy. Here is a picture my friend Peter took of me on one of the most amusing problems (maybe V3).

Swinging at the BeachHere is a cool pic of my friend Eric loosing his feet on a fun V2 at LJB. We named this problem Almost Porno due to some girls posing for photos at the beach while we did the FA. I was mezmorized by these awsome sediment layers in the sandstone, so took this pic looking down the lines.

Offwidth SunsetThis is me trying to work my way out of this narrowing chimney. I found myself stuck in a uncomfortable position, so if your tall like me I advise leaving the chimney earlier. Too bad this pic was taken with a flash because the colors were intense.

Finishing the CruxI found this climb on a hand drawn guide and decided to try it. Start with an easy face climb, and then traverses accross this overhanging bolder. From there its all hard pumpy moves. Here is a pic of me pulling over the top.
