Racking up for P2, Gemini Cracks (5.8). A sweet little section of fun OW, preceded and followed by nice, easy crack climbing for the rest of the pitch.

Scaring the crap out of myself on the fabulous finger crack that is P4 of Gemini Cracks (5.8). What do you mean, there are feet on the sides of the crack? Can't you see that's SLAB?!

in half a dozen times at lover's leap, this is the first time i got over to hogsback. on a nice, warm, early summer day at lover's leap, a mellow lead of harvey's wallbangers, center.

a lovely cap-off to a (previously) frustrating day. that flake EATS gear--i love it! afterwards we headed the 20 yards to our campsite and started in on the beer.

THE GREAT ROCK INCIDENT: guys decided truck would be a good windblock. guys saw only barrier to said windblock to be large boulder. guys pulled boulder 6-8 feet INTO parking space with truck. guys realized needed to return boulder. guys spent 1.5 hours trying variety of pulley systems and ever-effective "group hump" technique. two core shots and several climbers butt-first into the firepit later, they got it back. I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF.

october 2004, bear valley, ca. after years of playing follow-the-leader, and one blazing linked-pitch lead of upper refuse, i got up the balls to lead a...5.7. whoopee. note the dorky brain bucket. my dad would be so proud.
