Rock and SeaThe rock may be marginal at times, but you can't deny that it's beautiful. The hard part is not neglecting it in favour of the warm, crystalline waters at the base of the crag.

EuphoriaFailing on the V-hard, 60+ move link up of Dysphoria (V7) and Utopia (V6). Can't argue with an 18m totally horizontal roof, particularly one that requires a Figure4 and is (usually) dry in the rain

Wishin fer friction - Chris' new Turakirae spoogefestC. Lindsay brushed and sent this beautiful line on a weekend out at Turakirae Head. Just meters from the sea, the starting underclings were the only positive holds on the problem, which rapidyl degenerated into frictionles slopers.

Aotearoa's famous friction in actionThe Back Blocks at Turakirae Head are night to the Bronx's day. Slopey, frictionless, vertical, with rubble landings, they're a nice departure from the steep and aggressive climbing the 'Rak is famous for.

Too high to back off Lost BoysPrivy to one of the few ugly landings at Baring Head, Lost Boys inspires precision in those that attempt it. Don't miss the blind slimper over the bulge.

Another rough New Zealand approachClimbing at Baring Head, Wellington is more than just sequency highballs and perfect sand landings, it's about the brotherhood. And the scenery. Wish we could've got a seal it in the photo as well. Kudos to the photographer Pete McGregor. Pictured are Sam Knights and Ryan Haeseley.
