No rope, no crash pad, and the only pro you need is sunscreen. Me on an unknown problem at Davis Cove. Photo by Mark (Canon S100).

Deep Water Send at Davis Cove

Average Rating = 2.50/5 Deep Water Send at Davis Cove

Even with a clean drop into deep water, your mind instinctively tells you that you really don't want to fall. Diving back in once you get to the top is a different story. Photo by Mark (Canon S100)

Aaron pulls for the top of Mt. Little Wimpy.

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Aaron pulls for the top of Mt. Little Wimpy.

Aaron pulls for the top of Mt. Little Wimpy just right of the Frontside at Bull Creek. The keen observer may notice that the spotter is none other than James Crump, of TexasClimbers.Com fame, who turned us on to this short and fun problem. Photo by Darel Parker (Canon S100)

This is me on Left of Classic at Bull Creek in Austin. It was New Year's Day and a lot of the rock still hadn't dried out from the rain the night before. Photo by Blaine.

Traversal to the Flake on Schoolboys Indirect

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Traversal to the Flake on Schoolboys Indirect

I finally managed to send the traversal on Schoolboys Indirect, but I still blew it a couple of feet further up the flake. This was shot just moments before I did the gravity thing. Worst part is that the top rope swings way out so getting back on the climb is nearly impossible. Darn you Schoolboys Indirect... Darn you to Heck!!! Photo by Luis del Carpio

Holger Olholm on the Summit of Capitan Peak, NM

Average Rating = 2.00/5 Holger Olholm on the Summit of Capitan Peak, NM

This is a picture of my good friend Holger Olholm on the summit of Capitan Peak in New Mexico. Surprisingly, we had strong analog cell-phone service on the summit, so we both called our Mothers as this photo was taken on Mother's Day 1994. Photo by Darel Parker (Canon EOS).

Darel Parker on the Summit of Capitan Peak, NM

Average Rating = 1.75/5 Darel Parker on the Summit of Capitan Peak, NM

This is a shot of me on the summit of Capitan Peak in New Mexico (April 1994). The summit is 10,083' above sea level, and the climb took us about 9 hours with way-overloaded packs. I live in flat South Texas, near the coast, and this was my first and only trip over 10,000'. Photo by Holger Olholm (Canon EOS), who also organized the expedition. Thanks Holger!

Darel Parker Topping Out on Dead Cats (I Think)

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Darel Parker Topping Out on Dead Cats (I Think)

This is a shot of me topping out on Dead Cats at Reimers's Ranch, although I'm only guessing based on a route map from TexasClimbers.Com. In case anyone is familiar with this route, the finishing routine at the top starts with a crimper just above the bolt and a sloper on the boulder above and to the right. This was my first day on a wall in about seven years and that last section almost made wanna go home. Photo by K.C. (Canon S100).
