Solution erosion of the limestone at Elephant Rocks makes many of the climbs a scramble up razor-sharp pockets.

elephant rocks slopey fun

Average Rating = 0.00/5 elephant rocks slopey fun

after arriving at elephant rocks, i met some friendly portuguese climbers (sorry for not remembering your names). they worked a technical V5 for much of the afternoon, but did not send. i wandered over to give it a try and inspired one of them to give it one more go. he sent it this time, with style! :)

Trying Beautiful Edges (V4) at Spittle Hill

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Trying Beautiful Edges (V4) at Spittle Hill

I had seen this problem on rc.com and told Gary (socialclimber) I wanted to try it before we left. An area classic, which means polished by years of muddy boulder shoes. I only made it part of the way. Gary (spotting) made it to the top, but couldn't finish. Maybe next time!

working a wet mt. cargill boulder

Average Rating = 0.00/5 working a wet mt. cargill boulder

on the hike up mt. cargill, which can be either 1.5 hours or 20 minutes depending on where you park, you will find a few basalt boulders along the paths. this one here has the most potential. slightly overhung, with potential for Veasy-Vhard face and arete problems.

Unexpected beautiful day at the Glen

Average Rating = 4.50/5 Unexpected beautiful day at the Glen

Meteorologists foiled again! Despite predicted storms and dim outlook on quality campgrounds, we drove 4.5 hours to the Glen and enjoyed a beautiful Saturday of bouldering. Pictured above is my girlfriend Lindsey climbing an aesthetic, fingery, unknown V2ish boulder.
