The desert manThis is what happens after I spend 4 days climbing at smith in the heat of August... damn it was hot there - wake up too early and climb in the morning and evening... sleep the rest of the time.
What an amazing place!

Getting ready for a day on SysiphusOne of our objectives while in Canmore was Sysiphus summits (22 pitches 10d). This was one of the most incredible routes we did while in the area. With doubles we were able to easily link two pitches in one. A litte bit of rain half way up and some tired climbers made this a great day!

Hoppinbig on his new favorite climbCrack of Dawn - nothing else needs to be said for anyone that knows Seneca. This is the best 10 at Seneca. The 2nd pitch is 120 feet of amazing crack climbing covering everything from off-width to fingers. Thats me at the top and my buddy Al at the bottom. My good friend Dennyg took this pic - thanks Dennis! This pic doesn't really give you an idea of how long the pitch is so I'm adding another pic of it..... check it out

What happens to Canadians when they go southWell you can see here what happens when you take a Canadian and plop em in West Virginia at the end of May. The tan line from my harness shows how white I was at the beginning of the day... and well the red shows what happens without sunblock.

Hoppinbig on Rock WarsOnce again I was inspired by a pic I saw on rc, first time I saw a pic of this route I swore that I would do it. On day 2 of our trip to the Red I dragged everyone to Long Wall... when we came around the corner to this climb everyone understood why were were there. This has to be one of the best cracks I have ever had the pleasure of climbing (this route is actually vertical - looks slabby in the pic for some reason).

Hoppinbig on the DanglerIt was a picture of the Dangler that motivated me all winter to climb at the gym. I told myself the first nice weekend I get I'm going to the Gunks and doing the Dangler as my first route. I took Something Interesting up to the GT ledge - and saw it.... GULP... brought up my 2 buddies... GULP.... took a few deep breaths ... GULP.... placed some gear and committed.... instantly I forgot about the exposure... about falling... with my 2 buddies cheering me on I did the Dangler... man did I love every second of it. MMMMM.. Thanks to Bishop for the great pics!

Spring conditionsWe accidentally took this pic. I almost deleted it but the more I looked at it the more I liked it... Conveys the day... snow, rocks and a rack... what a perfect spring day for climbing - and we had the crag to ourselves... Between you and I we climbed in t-shirts, but if anyone asks it was cold and nasty and its way too early to climb outside ;)

Girls Chatting - Boys Playing...On our first visit to the glen we were walking through the woods when we came to this beauty.... "Wow!"
So the girls sat down and continued chatting (upset that they couldn't sit on the crash pads) and the boys started playing...
This is the Chuckey Cheese Boulder - problem is Take Your Pick. Climber is Jason, I'm spotting and Bishop is taking the pic.
