Jon in Rock Springs BowlThis is a phot I took of Jon Scott making some nice turns in the Rock Springs Bowl Area. I like the photo except that I accidentally cut-off his head. The snow at the resort was crusty, but it wasnt in the OB.

whetstone mtn.this photo is of whetstone mtn., located across the valley from the skyland boulders. i did a summer ascent of this mtn in '99 and a winter ascent (and skiing descent) in the winter of '02. this is a great mountain to ski, with numerous classic winter descent lines.

Ben trying to get Smart (Tom)Ben Goodpasture on Smart Tom. Photo by Sam F. at Blowing Rock Boulders 10/6/04. Smart Tom is a crimpy (sharp) traverse that moves to a more vertical climbing problem. The holds get better as you go up. The crux is getting to and from the decent yet sharp incut sidepull. This problem is probably the first one to dry out after the rain and is usually a sunny spot.

HiStep'nI'm not sure of the name of this route. It was in the guidebook as an 11a or maybe 11b...? It starts steep and juggy and finishes thin and not so steep for the crux (pictured).
