Grittin' Through the Crux

Average Rating = 3.67/5 Grittin' Through the Crux

Three months after the fact, I finally uploaded some pics from a beautiful day at Lizard's Mouth. Here I am crushing the rock as hard as I can on Swingin' Singles, the hardest V1 I think I've ever tried. BTW - I never did make it beyond that move that day. Oh well, next time. Psyching up for the Big Dyno

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Psyching up for the Big Dyno

Dan Mills prepares to go for a dyno to the lip on this unnamed 20+ foot highball in the Buttermilks. Did he get it, you ask? Not yet...but he's so close. I'd give him a couple more tries before he sticks it. (Photo taken: 10/1/05)

Buttermilk Sunset

Average Rating = 3.67/5 Buttermilk Sunset

For a few brief moments, the Buttermilks were transformed into a Mars-like scene. Everything but the sky turned this rust color. Then as quickly as it appeared, it faded away. (Photo taken: 10/1/05)

Midway Up the North Ridge on Lone Pine Peak

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Midway Up the North Ridge on Lone Pine Peak

Out of energy, I took a much needed food break midway up the ridge. At least I got to admire how far we had already come. Taken: 7/16/05.

Castle Rock

Average Rating = 4.00/5 Castle Rock

This is a view from the top of Castle Rock near Ft. Douglas, Wisconsin. This sandstone formation was once an island and now just begs to be climbed. I don't know if climbing there is actually allowed and any routes would certainly need to be cleaned up, but it appears to be one of the only outdoor options in western WI. In any case, I thought the view from the top was worth my slippery scramble up.

This Gun For Hire

Average Rating = 3.30/5 This Gun For Hire

Rita making a move on This Gun For Hire 12/19/04. It was my first real bouldering experience & I have to admit, I had a blast. Got to love winter in Santa Barbara. The sun was shining, the sky was clear. It felt like the summer solstice was approaching rather than the winter. Photo: Marc Schiffhauer.
