Parmakkaya is located between two plateaus, Aksam Pinari and Avcibeli which are the main base camp locations for the climbs for many peaks in Aladaglar. Parmakkaya can be translated into english as Finger Rock (parmak=finger, kaya=rock) but you can already tell that by its appearance. The guy resting on right is me. A friend of mine, Berkay took this shot for me while we were getting down to Aksam Pinari from our Kaldi(3734mt) climb in March 2000.

Aksam Pinari(nearly 1900 mt) is a plateau which is being used as base-camp location for lots of alpine climbs, treks and even for trad wall climbs(Parmakkaya, Lahitkaya, etc.). For the higher alpine climbs, Avcibeli(a higher plateau) can be a better place to camp on. This photo was taken on my way back from Avcibeli, Kaldi climb(3734 mt) in March 2000.

You can see D.Palut on one of the 5.11 or 5.12 ranked routes of the Right Section, making the key move. This shot should be atleast three years old so I cannot tell which route he was actually climbing.
