Climbing on alien landscapesA little photoshop fun with Mike Malakian on a Gunks classic, the Buddha. Photo by my father, Kourken Malakian. You can see the orginal photo at http://www.rockclimbing.com/photos.php?Action=Show&PhotoID=18871.Notice how washed out the left hand and left foot are... i basically had to draw them in from scratch, so give me a little slack!

Dave Graham on The Art of NothingDave Graham does a quick (well, ok, not so quick... he decided to rest and chalk up on the "jug" 1/4 pad flat crimps...) flash of The Art of Nothing, V8, at the 2003 Petzl Rock Comp. Dave's a very cool dude and was more than willing to give a spot as i spun off the last move (away from the pads...).

Just Training...I was bouldering at Paul's cave when i thought to myself, "Why don't i stop just training for real climbing and practice my trad?" So i got my nice rack of stoppers and quickdraws and made a few placements. Some of them even held "rope weight!" Notice the bolt near the first placement - only a real weakling clips bolts!!

Paul Robinson on Pool Table BoulderThis is Paul Robinson on the Pool Table, Cave section. The problem is a hard crank out over the lip to a sketchy mantel with a hard landing. You start in the middle of the cave with your heels on two pillars and grab a one inch wide pinch with each hand. You then pull off the ground and go to the crimps on the side (where his hand is). Match on the crimps, bump up to the jug, and mantel to top out and finish. "A solid V10+" ;-)
