Description:
Located about 300m east of Kindargarten Rock (aka Grey Rock or Cathedral Rock) on the east side of the road. This huge boulder lies in a sunken area surrounded by bushes just off the road.Probably the Garden's most secluded bouldering area which provides a number of lines up the bombproof, limestone-like (actually compacted sandstone) rock. Watch for rattlesnakes and bring some bug juice during the spring and summer. Difficulties vary. Mongoose block is the largest boulder and has some good routes like nose lunge V4 on the southeast corner. The flakes on the southwest corner are a fun V0 and the center of the south wall is a V2.

No Playground for the weary
GREAT PLAY GROUND, watch your back , there are plenty of problems that don't present fall impalement danger. but a few that do. If you want to be able to solve a half dozen problems in a relatively short time in just about every v class....hit the snake pit

Ascent Note
Played on Mongoose - lots of fun routes with easy or hard holds if you want them, plus easy top outs for those height-afflicted climbers (also good since there's not much room to spot between the boulder and the surrounding brush). Had particular fun trying out sit starts on both overhanging sides.
