Description:

Follow directions for Ford Mountain Bluffs to get to main talus field. On entering field from east look immediately up (north) at the east-most (climber's right) edge of the main wall which protrudes towards you.Start on that protruding area and head up and slightly to the west following the curvature of that east-most edge of the bluff. Many different lines could be taken. Lots of variety in rock structure on way up. Lots of boulder-type situations. Mostly very easy low 5 climbing and scrambling. In one place two thirds up there's a great little boulder on the left with a sloping slab of a front with crimpy holds and a finger crack that can be used to continue on up. Trees form belay anchors at convenient points along the route and the top pitch is a low 5 scramble into sloping forest. One could rap back down on trees. We continued up the mountain for maybe 25 min veering west a little and easily hit the hiking trail that runs along the whole ridge of the mountain. This trail is just a few min down over the other side of the top of the mountain and can be hiked to its end in half an hour for a stunning almost 360 view of all surrounding mountain ranges. Hike back down this trail to arrive at the road you parked at to get to climbing area.

Descent Options:

Rap back down same way off trees or hike up to trail that leads up to top and down to road.
