Description:

This route is easily found by hiking up the Oak Creek Canyon. When the canyon forks, stick to the right. The route exists on the wall with the noticeable left-leaning crack system and black waterstreaks. Plan on making a day out of this climb due to the 2 hour approach. Also plan on building all your own belay stations, so it helps to double up in cams sizes #1-#3.5. Although much of this route isn't classic, the exposure and views are superb. The crux 5.6+ pitch is very fun and about as classic as they come. The decent is very straight forward as well.

5 out of 5 stars .

Long but gorgeous hike to the route. The book says 2 hours approach but it took us about 2.5 to find our way around. You'll be walking through a lot of shubery, bushes, trees, and cactus so pants and long sleeves would be a good call.

The route itself is a ton of fun. Bring a camera along; the view from the top is beautiful. There are also flowers along the route that are gorgeous to snap pictures of.

Epic approach and long pitches. The final pitch is one of the finest exposed moderate section I have ever experienced. The 20 minute walk off is a bonus, but you still face a 1 3/4 hour hike back to the car.

Be prepared for bushwacking.

If climbing on a weekday, do not be suprised if the gypsum mine across the valley starts blasting. While leading pitch 6, I was startled when I heard a large explosion.

I can confidently say that I will never return to this route due to the long approach.
