3 out of 5 stars Off Route

Got off route on pitch 2 (off route is the direct line, the 5.9 goes left under the roof for anybody looking to do this) I'd say the direct route was 10+ on weak placements, then runout easy stuff above the roof...

4 out of 5 stars Awesome

Great climb with spectacular views and definitely some exposure. Ran into some friends from the ATL at the base. I led P1, doug did the rest. We did a variation on P4&5 (steep shattered rock to hand crack). So cold and windy that day, the one guy got the screaming barfies after P2. Unbelievable summit views. Watched a party of 2 struggling on NEB while we climbed the tower and 3 parties on Braille Book.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best

A five star route for sure. I've done this 5 times over the years, and love taking my non-climber sons to the top (last time 24 June 2010). This is a classic 5.9, made even more "classic" (10+??) by heading straight up through the 2nd pitch roof, rather than traversing left. There is still an assortment of antique gear on the second pitch. Don't tell the NPS--they'll kick us all off and designate the crack a national historic site.

Note: First rap about 110 ft. Others about 105 ft.
