Description:

The first bolt is about 15 feet off the ground, and is impossible to clip without a really long cheater stick or standing on the roof of a truck. Most of the bolts are fairly easy to clip, but one requires top-stepping and a sort of free move, and another requires a hook move or cheater stick move. Some nice 5.8ish face climbing leads to the summit from thre last bolt.

This is a unique and interesting summit, and a worthwhile pitch if you are in the area.

Kinda dumb but it was all we had time for with the sun going down. Daylight savings time sucks. Lots of loose rock and I wouldn't reccomend parking underneath the route. I did so I could clip the first bolt from the roof of my truck. I should have clipped it, came down and moved my truck. I kept knocking off pebbles on to my hood and it looks like hail damage now. When my second was coming up I kept hearing thuds from rocks hitting my truck, it was no good.

Isn't hooking considered A2? Anyway, a standard stick clip reaches the first bolt, two wheel drive can get you there and the last bolt is one hell of a long reach that I had to lung repetedly for with an open biner in hand, after about 50 tries I got it. A .5 camelot can protect the easy 5.8 move to the top if you are so inclined. loads of fun and good photo ops abound!

The hardest part of this climb was the 4 wheel drive back entrance. If you turn off Kane Creek Road before the tower, the road is ALOT easier, the 2nd enternce after the tower alot worse. Stood on top of Tocoma & still had to stick clip it. Pie after that.
