East approach of Carillon through Carillon Valley/ Class 3 snow/rock + traverse East Ridge of MT Russell/ Class 3 rock (ascent) – reached both summits. 18 hour RT day hike. FUN. Nuf said.

Lots of unconsolidated snow on the north side of ridge, 20 degree temps, and winds of up to 40 mph made for a spicy outing. Fantastic climbing nevertheless. I'd like to return when it's more of a rock route.
