Good Luck. Eh You gotta start somewhere right? :) It's a work in progress, but i'd like to focu on mostly Canadian climbing content. There's not a lot of great forums out there, let alone specific to Canada.

Check Mark's (fiend) site: www.halcyonclimbing.com For another Canada+ based site or some more ideas on this one.

climbingjunky, Good luck! For some alternative ideas by which you may be able to distinguish your site, check out this 'forum": http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?RecentChanges It is the original wiki (this particular one is oriented to programmers). It is very interesting because anyone can edit anything. A feature that evolves is that the petty arguments fall away with time and a longstanding topic emerges containing useful information. There is a little bit of a learning curve to figure out what is 'going on', but the distributive nature of wiki has some appeal. T

In reply to: Check Mark's (fiend) site: www.halcyonclimbing.com For another Canada+ based site or some more ideas on this one. Mark has an excellent site :) . I'm also a regular user there and have submitted some local comp climbing news. I'd definetly like to expand on that as well as local news in each province regarding comps and hard sends. Eventually I'd like to have a special section for each province and perhaps break it down even more. I'm still open to ideas. I appreciate all the comments. Thank you. :)

In reply to: I know this site will suceed, I am already spreading the word at the crag. And the gym. It will suceed. Aw, thanks man. I truly appreciate that. The more climbers the better that's for sure. What can I say, I just love climbing in Canada, I just felt that we needed a site that could represent us, share ideas and information :)

theres already a squamish, er 'Canadian' rockclimbing site, www.squamishclimbing.com . Why not just use that site rather than making a bunch of smaller pathetic sites? www.halcyonclimbing.com is also really good

Why not just use that site rather than making a bunch of smaller pathetic sites? www.halcyonclimbing.com is also really good I appreciate your opinion, however negative it may be. It only encourages me to put original content. Bare in mind, it's a still a work in progress. I'm a regular user at both sites and feel that they each have something different to offer. I like both of them. I also know Mark from Halcyon, good guy, I have provided some content there but I'd like to be able to focus in on more local climbing news and competitions as opposed to creating a topo list of climbs which sc.com is already doing. In fact another site doing smililar thing as sc.com is www.drtopo.com. Just a different flavour that's all. If you don't like it, then don't sign up, simple as that  Have a great day.

didn't mean to be negaitve here; i'll probably join the site anyhow cause it is Canadian afterall. Im only members in two canuck climbing sites so far... So, why start working on a rockclimbing site just as the climbing season is comming into full swing here? Hope you get it develped enough before you ditch the computer and hit the crags.

So, why start working on a rockclimbing site just as the climbing site is comming into full swing here? Hope you get it develped enough before you ditch the computer and hit the crags. It's all good FD :) . I know the guys that are running those sites, good guys, don't know them personally but see them all the time in my gym and at comps. It's a small world. To answer you're question, I enjoy building sites and web designing, it's a hobby, i'd like to make it a career evetually, and of course climbing is a huge part of my life. So it only makes sense that I bring the 2 together. RC.com is a very resourceful site, but I don't come here as often as I used to for my own reasons. Halcyon is an excellent site, I frequent there all the time. The atmosphere is more laid back less negativity. I'm a couple hours away from Squamish, so I don't get out to the crags as often as I'd like to. During the week, after work, I'll usually hit the gym, and in the weekends if the weather is nice, like not raining, I'll usually head to Chek Canyon for sportclimbing or bouldering undereath the Chief. Besides, that I have plety of tiem to work on my site, so it's not a big deal. My work, also enables me to be online most of the day, so i can maintain things. Man, im tired it's like 1am here, how bout those Canucks! :)

This is awesome. It's great having a site for Canadians. Not that rockclimbing.com is bad or that rockblimber.ca shouldn't be visited or used by everyone else, i'm just excited that there is a dedicated canadian site. Great work climbingjunky.
